Apples and Oranges

By Anitsirk

First fully grown cucumber picked today. :) Always such a treat with home grown produce from my small patio. :)
Today I finally went to pick up my ID card. I saw that the row of gnat bites wasn't that visible on the ID card, which I told the nice police man sitting behind the counter. He enlarged the photo infront of him and saw what I meant when I told him I got those in the northern parts of Sweden. We chatted a little bit and I got the 'all clear' to take my old ID card home, since I'd punched holes in two places. Then his body language changed... He got more serious, so I said thank you to him and turned around to go, and almost walked into a person standing behind me. I heard the officer telling the person that he need to get a queue number and wait for his turn. I recognised the guy, because when I stepped out of the bus he walked passed me with an odd set of clothes and two wrist watches. I understood hat he had some troubles, so I stopped to see if he needed help with the 'queue machine', but he pressed the right button so I left.
Then passed my cousins flat to see that everything was ok and after that, the bus home. A visit to the library to pick up a book and then home... outside my door there was an army (not kidding...) of mosquitoes waiting for me. I killed off a few and then hoped I'd get rid of some when I trow the door open so the wind would take them away. I went out some hours later and there were still mosquitoes outside, but not that many. And, according to the scientists, we've not seen the worst yet. In my area there're seldom mosquitoes by the houses, but now... I'm going to have to bring my homemade repellant to work, and take some on me before I go outside. Fun, fun... not...
