Bird on a wire!

Today was the last day of our holiday (booooooo!). We had thought we could spend the morning (or even the day) in Newquay but having had a wander round the town last night we decided it wasn't up to much. However, we found a leaflet (purely by chance) for 'Adrenaline Quarry' which was a minor detour off our route home.

Adrenaline Quarry

Frequent viewers of my blips will know that Mr A is quite an adrenaline junkie so this visit seemed more appropriate than traipsing round the shops, which is more my line of hobby!
For reasons unknown, I willingly agreed to do have a go on the zip wire and also 'the swing' (more on that later....!)
The zip wire was good as there were 2 lines running parallel which meant Mr A & I could zip at the same time. We were meant to race but I had a little hesitation stepping off the platform so he won by default.
Next up was the swing....two words....never again!!!! . I'm still undecided whether it was a wise move to go on it without knowing what was about to happen; with hindsight probably yes.
We were attached to a metal bar with harnesses then hoisted to a ridiculous height, at which point the attendant announced 'halfway there guys'. More hoisting to an even more ridiculous height; and at this point I decided I wanted to get off! Too late!!!!!
We were launched...off the cliff, 150ft above the lake in the quarry. I would like to say it was amazing but my eyes were tight shut for at least the first 4 swings and my screams were probably heard across the English Channel!!!! When I remembered to breathe, I dared a peep across to Mr A who was howling with laughter at the other side of the swing.
I'm kind of glad I did it, just to say that I did, and safe in the knowledge that I'll never have to do it again. I'm also glad Mr A was with me throughout. A thrilling end to our holiday !
