Gathering of the clan

We have just returned from a friends 80th birthday party over in Fintry in the Campsie Hills. And a riotous occasion it was complete with Highland Piper  ( see extra) and singing.
 
Over 60 people had gathered to celebrate Jeanie's ( photo-far right) birthday with four hours of eating, drinking, dancing and non-stop entertainment-  a true gathering of the clan.
 
It was a tribute to Jeanie's gift of friendship that so many of us had gathered together today from different strands in her very full life to join in the celebration.
 
We have known Jeanie and her husband David for over 50 years through returned volunteers of VSO, (Voluntary Service Overseas).

 
 (Pictured above) Among the countries the above group had worked in were India, Malawi, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tanzania.
And for all of them it was a life changing experience. M (back row) was in Pakistan.
