Inspired by an oak twig.

I was attracted by the autumn colours, and passing friend stopped to admire it. She pointed out that the oak trees this year seemed to be shedding many similar twigs. We wondered if the trees were stressed by the exceptionally hot, dry spring followed by a long wet spell. I have also noticed t hat one of the oaks in Gatesbield garden is looking rather sickly. I do hope that conditions next year enable these handsome trees to make a full recovery.
