Tuesday: Secret Cyclamen

Noticed a patch of pink this morning, under lots of dark leaves and shrubbery - the cyclamen :-) - it’s funny that we forget where certain plants are, especially when they are very dainty in flower and disappear for months on end until their flowering season arrives, then POW !!

Decided to do a load of washing this morning even though there were showers of very fine rain. It turned into a beautiful sunny day with a gentle warmth which was perfect for pottering in the garden.

Picked 2 ripe Figs (and a 3rd almost ready) - total to date is 8.
Noticed that the fig tree has a root which has escaped and is in the soil, must remember to re-pot and prune the root, when all the leaves have dropped …! Restricting the roots helps it to fruit, if I remember correctly …

Potted on my Cucamelon seedlings - half a dozen each in two large pots with a small teepee of hazel twigs to support them, they’re in the greenhouse where they’ll stay.

Sat outside to eat my lunch, it was rather lonely - I could hear birds in the distance but none in the garden. Bees were in very short supply too, there was a small carder on the viburnum and a solitary white butterfly near the apples.

Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
