Sure & Steadfast
After a morning working at the church, I took the afternoon off and went walkabout with the camera. Its was just too warm to sit about in the sun so I headed over to Torrisdale to get some blips of what I think is one of the most picturesque spots in Kintyre.
My intention was to get some blips under the bridge with the river and Arran framed in its span. I did take some shots from this position, and was quite happy with them, until my attention was drawn to an old anchor on the rocks above the south bank of the river. There was something about its rusty shape and sharp contrast against the colours of the rocks, sea and sky that really fascinated me. I rattled off umpteen shots from all kinds of positions without getting the one I had envisaged. However, on review, I quite liked this one looking over South Dippen (yesterday's blip) with Carradale Bay and Waterfoot in the distance.
This would be an ideal spot for a sunrise shot at this time of year if it wasn't for the unearthly hour you would have to get up!
As for the title - well I was a Boy's Brigade boy and this is their motto, which is depicted under an anchor.
