Adam, ready for the off!

The last day. I can hardly believe it - over so soon!

A long ride today,18 miles, along the south side of Loch Ness, following forestry tracks and little paths. More wonderful scenery, super views down and across the loch. You get a true idea of the size of it from high up amongst the trees. Tiny wee boats on the water!

There were only three of us riding today and so we were able to have a few good canters on the flat and take the inclines sedately.

A day of trees and bracken, wild flowers and interesting looking toadstools.  Some of the little paths were very narrow and steep, especially through the Fair Haired Lads Pass. Time to dismount and lead the ponies down, the odd rattling stone and slithering hoof adding to the excitement!

I have had a brilliant time, better than I could have imagined. Adam is so lovely, he's just a very gentle, willing boy. I've thoroughly enjoyed his company and will miss him. Hopefully I'll get to spend time with him again.
