To Scale(xtric)

After months of planning our cars are finally taking shape. The kids design their own car bodies on the revolutionary web-based CAD software, OnShape and printed on our ace Ultimaker 3DPrinters. The Scalextric working components are bought as kits, the chassis has been designed and 3D printed to a specific spec with regards to the wheel base, width clearance, body fittings and rear magnet (for keeping the car on the track). Feel like we are on track (ahem) for the finals up the road from us at the end of the month. Still a lot of tweaking to do before we can let the kids test them and practice their driving skills.
