One Tree Hill

I spent last night in Auckland.
Had a lovely walk this morning with my friend Kim at Cornwall Park , a central city oasis, complete with spring lambs.

On the top of the hill is the One Tree Hill monument, just visible in my pic.

Made famous by U2 on their Joshua Tree album. One of their roadies, a NZ’er became a close friend of Bono and they visited this location. After his tragic death in a road accident Bono wrote the lyrics to the song, “One Tree Hill”
