Close call

Today the whole of Tyrol and Innsbruck were on edge due to heavy rain and other influence, leading to high water levels.
The water level doubled in just one day and reached close to the 6.58m height record of 2005 with today hitting 6.39m. (At the moment back down to 5.47m again)
The fire brigade, police and volunteers secured big parts of the promenade with sandbags and other safety measures.
Bridges got closed and at others cranes and excavators got placed to pull out trees and debris if they accumulate to a dam.
Some regions upstream got hit worse like the Ötztal where the only connecting street got swept away.
In the night it can get worse again but for now it looked like a really close call.
