I had been imagining I would be sharing a photo of the majestic mountain that nestles and nurtures the city of Hobart, just as it nurtured and nestled the original inhabitants across a timespan of at least 40,000 years.

I just hadn’t imagined it would be this one!

But I couldn’t resist this capture of a 70 year old celebrating her ascent of the pinnacle in just two hours (not battery assisted). She had posed for a nice enough photo for me five minutes earlier, but I prefer this accidental capture of her daughter recording the triumph on her own camera.

I enjoy capturing acts of photography in the same way I enjoy watching other people’s enjoyment witnessing acts of kindness. It’s irresistible!

So enjoy this for all its limitations, being a post processed (Hipstamatic) rendition of an emergency digital zoom of a magic moment on the mountain!
