Patriotism

This house on a nearby road looks as if it would benefit from a lick or two of paint and the securing of a few roof slates. However it's recently started sporting a Union Flag which looks in excellent condition. It always interests me how many national flags one sees on houses in the USA compared with here in the UK where they are quite rare: I can think of only one other in our area and that was sadly hoisted upside down! (As an ex-Boy Scout I know that the broad white stripe should be uppermost next to the flagpole: it is correctly positioned in this photo.)
