Reality in Paradise
We missed Mass yesterday evening, owing to our boozing it up at a wedding party. So we went this morning to Mass at the main church in Bridport and encountered a dose of reality at the top of our road, a burned out Audi – an A3 or A4, I'd guess. In the Extra is a colour photo to try to show how the wreck is so close to the beautiful vista of the hill down into our village.
What is the point? Why do it? I've made a quick search on "why burn cars?", but the only result was electrical fires or the tendency for the French to burn cars, presumably in cities when things have gone wrong. I can only assume that someone has stolen this car and burned it to remove evidence of that crime. And that they don't care about the dreadful waste that it entails.
