Surgery day....

....for my Mum.

I got to the hospital for about 11:00am so I could spend some time with my mum. She was on the emergency list which meant at any point she could be taken down to theatre. It wasn't until about 4:00pm when they took her down.

They were starting with key hole surgery to explore the problem but it soon turned to a full open surgery. They have removed a section of her bowel that was blocked and inflamed.

The good news she went back to the specialist ward and not into ICU after the op so fingers crossed the road to recovery starts now.

She hasn't eaten for three weeks and she won't be for the immediate future but she wasn't even allowed to swallow water for nearly two days before the op which was a little distressing for her, I can't imagine what her throat and mouth felt like especially with a tube down her nose and throat.

It was late this evening when we found out so I will visit as soon as I can tomorrow morning.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts over the past weeks and especially the last few days.

I will catch up on here when I get a chance.

Peace and love

Mr Bo Hingles
