Gannet

We had a few visits from Gannets today though none really hung around once they worked out that the wire off our stern was not hauling the kind of fish they are intersted in. The "Fish" we are towing is a "Side Scan Sonar" with which we are mapping a passage of sea bed from The Clair Oilfield west of Shetland to near Wick. We are checking for the seabed for obstructions, as later on a huge pipeline "bundle" some 7Km long being built there will be towed subsea from Wick and installed in the new Clair Ridge Field linking the new development to the existing Clair Platform.
