Hydrangea Skeleton

A lovely day today - a day of simple pleasures, perfect for doing a few jobs out in the garden.  I found this and thought it was worthy of preserving, albeit electronically.  Such fragility but somehow this little wee hydrangea flower head has managed to stay largely intact over the winter.  Made me wonder why some things can survive relatively intact whilst others decay and disappear?  A discussion for another time maybe.
