The birthday lunch
Today was my friend Kerry's 50th birthday and she had invited ten of her friends to join her at her home for a celebratory lunch. Although the forecast was for good weather, on the way to her house it started raining, but luckily as I got there the rain stopped and the sun came out - thank goodness, as we were eating outside in the garden. It got windy at one point, as can be seen in the top photo!
It was a lovely day and good to catch up with friends. This is a photo of four of us who all met at university in Durban, South Africa in 1980, and who now all live in England, and have done so for many years - just another case of the exodus of skills from SA.
The birthday girl Kerry is second from the left (in mint green), and I am second from the right (in fuschia pink). The photo was taken by Kerry's daughter who was home on study leave.
