Got away early - for us - and had the best of the day ;)
Bacon butty on arrival, and then the river walk for an hour or so before looking round the house just as it started to rain! 

I remember visiting in my last year at junior school, and being wowed by all the Trevelyan family portraits. Not so sure about the Cabinet of Curiosities upstairs though!
