Ham Wall nature Reserve

Walked the length of Ham Wall today, a great nature reserve with lots to see but about halfway along I kept getting swooped by this lapwing and it's partner. Carried on thinking perhaps the babies were somewhere close and on reaching the end of the reserve walked back again. Just before half way back I met some dog walkers who warned me of the lapwings saying they had babies on the ground and to watch the dogs with them. Well on getting closer to where the lapwings had swooped me before I saw the mother and 3 little babies running along the ground. On me getting closer the mother took off and the babies ran to the side to hide. I managed to spot where 1 had gone. The poor things have obviously fledged the nest too early, I just hope they make it.
