The storks of Alsace

The stork is a main feature of Alsace., and was the subject of many ledgends told to children.
They practically disappeared around the 1970 but re-population efforts are continuing.
They are mostly found on roofs of houses, churches, and other public buildings.

The photo ,bottom left, is the fire station in Ribeauville.
If you look closely ( better large) you can see a nest right next to the fire sirens on top of the tower! See bottom middle for a close up photo!

We have been on the "route de vin" _ wine road today.
Did a little tasting, and bought a few bottles!
Weather very hot, up to 30+c.

Off out tonight to one of our all time favourite restaurants, so must get ready.

Tomorrow we set off down to Provence.
