Lovely birthday walk

We took nearly 4 hours to walk just a couple of miles, because we looked at everything. You have to go with someone who likes to look and dawdle - otherwise people can get irritated:) Luckily we both do like.
Hard to narrow it down to 8 pics, I took so many. I think they are all pretty well known things so I won’t describe. I was delighted to see a blue butterfly, I haven’t seen one for a few years. That patch of water mint had masses of butterflies, moths, bees and all sorts. And in the second collage - we saw a group of caterpillars eating the leaves of a rose in the hedge, they weren’t doing much harm.
The place we walked was Kelston round hill, between Bristol and Bath. When we got back to the car we were admiring a row of swallows on a wire, when suddenly a sparrowhawk shot down and took one. It was a bit shocking to be honest.
Back at home I opened lots of lovely cards. And a few gifts. A good day. I’m now 70
