The View from the Garden Centre

Sunshine and showers, said the forecasters. There were lots of showers and hardly any sun! This view is from the garden centre car park As I will be avoiding the tourists over the next few days I thought I’d better buy compost and a couple of plants so I can get garden things done, away from touristy Cornwall. I found four little tiny reduced plants - sweetcorn. I knew they were too tiny to produce any sweetcorn, but at £2.50 for 4, I thought it would be good to see how tall they could grow. The checkout lady said that because they wouldn’t produce anything, I could have them free!

Eric, my non flying seagull, has recovered and can fly again! He sits on my car roof every afternoon.

I wonder if Nadine Dorries, MP, will be doing any work over the holidays. There are other responsible professions, accountable to the public, such as doctors, and teachers, who would surely never have time to appear on a weekly tv show as well as do their jobs properly, so why is she allowed to keep her MP job and get paid by the taxpayer?
