Those Eyes!

An afternoon trip out to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve.  Even though the car park was a full and the noise of kids in the play area was quite off-putting, we managed to lose ourselves around the lakes and the woodland walk where it was much quieter. 

This little duck on the lakeshore was intriguing with its bright yellow eyes which a bird website identified for me as a female Goldeneye. My knowledge of birdlife is appalling, something I must rectify.
