Clematis

Taking the weather forecasters somewhat by surprise an early morning a series of thunderstorms drifted up to our part of the south coast from the English Channel. There were several spectacular flashes of lightning and thunder together with a good half an inch of rain which saved watering the container plants and flowers.

The sun has returned this afternoon which will no doubt add to the explosion of life in the garden. I just had to photograph this,the first Clematis flower of the season which had appeared overnight.
