My photography teacher was eagerly awaiting the birth of her firstborn when she finished teaching us, and the timing was perfect as the baby has arrived just a week later. I am reminded of that when I see our garden dove sitting on her nest. She too must be eager for something to happen.

The doves have chosen that nesting spot for years. First it was a dry bit of guttering, and when we took it down, my husband built them a little ledge. Now it is back to being guttering again, with water, but they must be able to build on top of where the water goes.
