campervan man

When I was young there were three "brands" that were most important as far as cloths were concerned. Ben Sherman shirts, Dr. Martens boots and Levi jeans. All were very stylish and very expensive. As I have never had any style or money I never managed to own one of these , let alone all three.
Having traded my youth and middle age for old age and more disposable income I have gradually acquired all of them.
I have outgrown the shirt but still use a very nice Ben Sherman jacket. The boots were bought in Norwich and have been featured on Blip. They, and a second pair, are still going strong. I achieved the third part of the trio in Nashville Tennessee at the end of October 2019. The huge Levi shop there has a promotion on, two pairs for $80. It would have been rude to refuse so I got two pairs of the longed for jeans for less the price of one pair in the UK. An added bonus was they fitted me quite well, I had a Levi Strauss shaped body.
Over time the jeans frayed at the bottom, enhancing there appearance and split at the knee, not so good but still perfectly serviceable, despite wifely disapproval. Today I have found they have worn through in a very strange place, a place that makes them very inappropriate to wear in public any more. Although much loved they will have to be discarded, I will never to be seen in public in them again.
On the plus side no matter how bad they look I will still be able to wear them in the garden so I will still be Levied all day.
And if you recall I bought two pairs, the second ones are still OK. I can still go out with Ben, Levi and the Dr. and pretend, in spite of the obvious facts and reality, I am still in my early twenties. Of course if I was still in my early twenties the number next to the W on the label would have been a lot smaller, but I won't worry about that too much
