The Village at Dusk

This is the hottest day I have ever experienced. The mercury touched 44°C. None of us knew what to do with ourselves, least of all Daftie. We washed him in cold water. We went shopping (air-conditioned supermarket) and left him in the car (Tesla) on Dog Mode, which keeps the temperature at a delicious 20°C - which was also lovely for us when we got back into it. Leaving the supermarket was like being physically struck, so intense was the heat. Storms tonight are scheduled to break the heatwave - a double-edged sword, since Daftie will keep us up all night with his reaction to the thunder and lightning. In two weeks I will be on the Isle of Lewis with a likely temperature of 14°C or less. I can’t wait!!
