An Unexpected Turn Of Events

Well yesterday (and now today) turned out rather differently than we expected.

Yesterday afternoon our daughter’s car suffered a ‘puncture’ on their way back from Wensleydale to collect the dogs from us. Tyre completely burst..and of course, no spare, just a foam filler tin which was completely useless as the gash was a couple of inches long. She managed to get the car to Leyburn, but was unable to get it fixed. Called the RAC and they gave her an estimated 5 hour wait time for assistance.

So, as they were only an hour away, we drove up to them, collected the grandchildren and their overnight stuff and brought them back to our house…managed to feed them and get them off to bed. Daughter and son-in-law waited with the car..recovery turned up about 4 hours later and took them back to Doncaster. Certainly a different way to celebrate our anniversary!

Today after breakfast, we loaded up grandkids and granddogs into the car..and went to the park! Mrs madwill took the girls for some exercise at the playground and I walked the dogs around a bit.…then we headed off to Doncaster …mindful of finding a route to avoid the Leeds Festival traffic!!

We all went out for a late lunch at a coffee shop. Left Doncaster around 4 p.m. and we eventually got home around 5. Long delays at some roadworks on the A1.

Fortunately I had spotted my blip subject hanging in the kitchen window this morning…and I managed a quick grab shot with the little Lumix camera before we left. Spider saved the day…
