The Hauntings, Black Watch Museum
Took a trip to the Black Watch Museum at Balhousie Castle in Perth to see this powerful and impressive sculpture. All the details are here.
The title is very fitting because the sculpture has a poignant and haunting quality, particularly the look on his face. The life-expectancy for a junior officer who led his men 'over the top' on the Western Front could be as little as two weeks.
The use of pieces of scrap is entirely appropriate to represent the First World War which was the first truly mechanised and industrial war. I have included some extras in black and white because that war was fought in black and white and only recently has it been 'colourised' by the use of modern technology.
