Rather Not Be That Feather

I had a load of firewood delivered early this morning and the chap who brought it , pointed this beauty perched at the top a a dead fir down by the water - he was just waiting for something to swim by but at one point he got a little fastidious - or bothered by some parasite and dove after his tail feathers - ouch!
