An Overshadowed Commute

Today's shot was taken surreptitiously as I accompanied my brother on his walk up to the station (I did show it to him later and he was happy for me to post it on blip).
It does represent how he feels about his daily commute up to London first thing in the morning - like the shadows are looming over him with his heavy rucksack feeling like the weight of the world on his shoulders. He says it's the worst part of his day by far and he just wants to get it out of the way as soon as possible. He says his saving grace is being able to load up his phone with podcasts or music and listen to them with his headphones on.
By the time he gets to work the commuter's gloom has usually lifted and he can breathe a sigh of relief and get through the rest of his working day  until he has to make the return journey home. He still enjoys the creative parts of his job but he'd be delighted if he could just ditch the commuting entirely.
He's found it particularly tough over the last couple of weeks as he's also had to walk to and from the station each day as my car is still out of action. I've been walking with him up to the station in the morning to give him some company and keep his spirits up. It ends up being a very long day for him - regularly 14 hours from door to door.
I always try and make sure there is a glass of wine and food ready when he gets in at night and he can just wind down for the evening. Thankfully the weekend is on the horizon which he always looks forward to enormously and he can then forget about work and commuting entirely for a couple of days.
