Painting retreat.

Having spent the last 5 weeks only working in the mudroom - and feeling a bit out of balance, i've decided to give myself this week to do a painting retreat!

I started this one on sunday - i often find doors or windows starting to appear in my under layer and mostly they get obliterated, but for some reason i decided to go with this one....and to figure out what i was looking for!   i got very frustrated (as usual) mid way thro and almost gave up by just painting over the whole thing.  it was totally unbalanced and off!  but i didn't do anything....i left it for a couple of days. When i got a glimpse of it this morning i knew immediately what was wrong!

But in the meantime i spent a few hours on another painting....see extra.   This was another one that was giving me grief a few weeks ago and i had let it be.   After watching a video with Louis Fletcher (she is pretty amazing) where she addressed the issue of feeling stuck and giving up on a painting.  Her advice....do something radical!   So that's what i did!   And altho it's not done yet, i'm happy with this new direction.

I am happy to know that i have the next 4-5 days to just paint!
