Itchy

I'm pretty sure this is a Godwit, but I can't be sure which one because the app gave a few choices. I think it might be a Black-tailed Godwit, probably an immature bird.

A strong wind made focusing on birds difficult, especially because they were tiny in the frame. Shooting from a jetty, they were way out on the mud flats and even with a teleconverter I really didn't have the reach. On top of which there was a heat haze causing distortion in the air at that distance. 

But it was exhilarating out there in the elements with many hundreds of birds about.
