Barbie World

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Mini Princesses and I went to see Barbie today.

I expected it just to be a frivolous, fun and silly. And it was. But so much more than that. It was also really poignant and sad, and I had to take a breath at the end before the lights came up.

Inevitably the mother/daughter storyline struck a chord. Throughout their lives I hope my amazing daughters are everything they want to be and do everything they want to do. Empowered without judgement. I hope I’ve done and do everything I can to support that.

I might pause but I don’t want to stand still. I’ll keep learning from them and we’ll look back together as we all go forward.
