3 hours overtime from the comfort of bed before getting out for bread (1002 and already 5th in the queue! It was 9 deep as I left with a loaf)
To Hers and after much tea, I exited. She'd arranged to meet Loki's sometime minder at Belhaven (they have a shack there they spend time at over the summer) for a dog walk around the John Muir Country Park; She was going to do a bit more work then grab a train to Dunbar and I would cycle down.
Wind assisted and in decent sunshine I sped across East Lothian, rehydrating at the various Aldi's the county has to offer. Just shy of East Linton, She called. The trains were all off; a fatality somewhere between E Linton and Drem had meant cancellations fro the forseeable future. So the walk was off. And I had to turn and face the 40km home into a stiff breeze... oh joy!
Malt loaf and Haddington Athletic v Civil Service Strollers eased the pain; and actually I was settling into it quite nicely across the flat lands of Macmerry and Gladsmuir.
Back to Her's, (80km - ish)I set about more rehydration (Stella) and a salmon side in garlic, ginger, soy sauce, lime zest and honey; pak choi too)
Then off to the annual Pieute birthday bash on the steps of the museum on Chambers St. The energy Robbie gets from the 300-400 hundred die hards is insane; genuinely life affirming stuff as the skateboards and graffiti artists and hip hop DJs plus us mere mortals all have a great time. With Loki we didn't stop nearly long enough, and as I headed home after 10, they'd been shut down (partly helped by someone doing themself major damage, giving the constabulary the green light to breeze and shut it down - boo!
Kyle seems to be fine in spite of his mishap; and I made it home to watch MOTD
