Sun and shadows
The day did not go as planned: technical problems with downloading J's file and with the venue's internet connection for the zoom link meant that her presentation was not shown on Sunday morning as planned. It was suggested that it could perhaps be slotted in on Sunday, at the end of the event when the various activity groups come back together, but we heard nothing further about this despite sending a couple of emails and hanging around the computer all morning, so we assume that didn't happen either. J was very disappointed, partly because she's worked so hard to prepare it all and partly because she really wanted to join live and see familiar faces in the room; and I'm both sad for her and quite cross about the amount of time it's taken up. The presentation can be distributed to participants after the event and shared online in due course, so the work is not entirely wasted, but it's not what she was looking forward to.
It was a sunny afternoon, and I went for a pleasant walk around the village with J. Meanwhile, P has picked three kilos of blackberries from around the garden (!), cutting back the worst of the brambles as he goes, so I sorted and stewed them and set them to drip through the jelly bag. I'm hoping some of the apples will be ready to pick to combine with them for jelly and cordial.
