Day 1: Via Rhona 78km, height gain 680m

This is the view of the Rhone and where we are staying tonight. Our hotel is the yellow building. It’s a lovely village and we ate in the hotel restaurant overlooking the river from where we saw a beaver.

We had an early start to cycle down to Aigle on our ebikes . We took what should’ve been one train to Geneva but ended up being four trains as there were problems. Set off cycling, with two friends, much later than expected and it was already very hot. Lovely scenery along the route, see extras. We stopped for an ice cream to cool us down. Luckily the hotel has air conditioning. This area of France is looking very dry and the sweet corn looks like it’s withering away.
