We Need to Sit Down
Sam invited us all for drinks at the golf club where he's a member, and where he'd taken the kids for a play.
Some serious family chat was had, ranging from whether a new bath can be fitted before the wedding, where to get enough black beans to feed around four hundred, how to enable Deb to get her essays written, whether Zion's eye covered by hair is losing the ability to see, how Allegra managed to get ketchup on her forehead, the Spanish footballer who was only told her Dad had died after her team had won, and much else.
And then, a family outing to Tesco, where we emptied the shelves of various products, the cashier guessed we were having a party, and we all assuaged our hunger with a bag of Doritos in the car park.
Gratefuls:
- laughter
- time to sit and plan (been too busy until now)
- this beautifully cool and green country
