Soulless and Bare

Another day emptying the flat. We popped into town first to get a card and a coffee/croissant.

Picked up Cameron as he offered to help us . My job was cleaning the kitchen cupboards and packing up stuff that mum hadn’t used for years. She used to bake loads and was very good. It was sad packing away the old food mixer, there was times in the past it was used every week. There was a packet of icing sugar from 2014 so a rough guesstimate when she last baked. Mum’s special bakes were her fruit loaf, carrot cake and cheesecake. Also brilliant at jam making. I took over making her jam the past couple of years and she gave me a great compliment that it was as good as hers.

Tomorrow is key hand back day. That will be tough. Not being sad that we won’t be back but more all the happy years mum spent here and now she’s gone. It just doesn’t seem like 17 years!! Where has the time gone.
