Sunday: Hopkins

Much as we wanted to see the football we were disinclined to wake up at 4am to watch it so by the time we got up it was all over.  It’s a shame we lost but it’s still fabulous how far the Lionesses progressed.

We had a day out with Geoff and Sam today and drove down to Hopkins for lunch.  We started with a drink at the Curve Bar, and then had excellent pizza at Driftwood.  K went for a swim in the sea but the rest of us were a bit too lazy.  I did have a dip in the pool when we got back though.   

We let Geoff drive the car back as we’re trying to persuade him to buy it when we leave (not that our departure is imminent - we’re just thinking ahead).

The scenes of forest fires are heartbreaking.  For us, seeing the situation in British Columbia and the Northwest Territories is particularly hard to see, given how well we know the areas.
