Before and After

Not the most exciting blip but this is what I've been doing all day.  This patch of the garden was cleared by dad last year when he took out four small trees.  It's not a bad space for growing, but unfortunatley the previous owners covered it in purple slate, which whilst very attractive, has just slowly sunk into the soil as there was no barrier underneath it.  This has meant its impossible to plant anything in there as as you as you try and dig, you just hit a load of slate.

On previous days I'd riddled out the slate in the top left corner, just in time for neighbours R&F to drop off a geranium from their garden.  Today I was hoping to finish the rest but you can see I didn't quite get it done.  R&F were clearing out a patch of their garden, so they did offer some more plants that I was happy to accept!  Hopefully I can finish it during the week.
