Rievaulx Abbey.

We decided on a jaunt this afternoon. We haven’t been to Rievaulx in a while so combined a walk on Rievaulx terrace looking down on the Abbey before dropping down the hill to have a look round the building itself. 

The Abbey certainly looked better in the sunshine so the challenge was to wait for the sun to emerge from the clouds.

In the field next door a village cricket match was taking place. 

A grand afternoon out.
