The Larches

We had the morning at the site at Sandringham, beginning with another fried breakfast for 6, and then a tidying and cleaning couple of hours. Mollie, Dan and Viki left at about 10.30, and Henry just after them on his 2 wheels. They had a much better night without rain, but we decided the tent had had it, so it was dumped.

We left the site at 12, heading west. Destination somewhere near Ludlow. We stopped in a familiar lay-by near Kettering, for lunch. Then onto the A14 for the big roads bit of the journey. The last part was the slowest, negotiating the smaller roads, hilly and winding which brought us to this lovely peaceful site. On a working farm, the Caravan and Camping Club certificated sites are simple, and only allow 5 caravans and a few tents. There is a toilet and shower, but nothing more. Just how we like them to be. We were greeted by the owner, who showed us where to pitch. Those either side of us are going tomorrow. The cows have been down to visit a few times, but we have basically relaxed reading since 5. Sun and dappled shade abound. Hope we get more of that.

We have had dinner, bunting is up, and now I'm waiting for my lights to come on!
