Wasp...

I have seen this beastie quite a few times this summer and I had no idea what it was so I tried every connotation for a Google search today and I have narrowed it down to some kind of Potter/Mason Wasp which I have never heard of before!  Looks like it is a solitary wasp and has little risk of stinging - unlike the common wasp which there are millions of just now!!!

A bit of a lazy day today.
