Tiny Tawny
The fungi season has started early this year with reports coming in of all the major families. I had a little outing earlier and found quite a few including Parrot Waxcaps, Penny Buns, Chanterelles, Blushers, Beechwood Sickeners, Brittlegills, Milkcaps, Amethyst Deceivers - to name but a few. my favourite specimen was this Tawny Grisette.
Nearby on the roadside verges, there were hundreds of butterflies - mainly Small, Large and Green-veined whites. There were also lots of Small Coppers, a few Walls and a Peacock and a Small Tortoiseshell.
