This is just to say
I have eaten
the 0.1 and 0.9 of two tiny apples
that were being devoured by wasps
on the tree
and which
I had been
saving
for later
I'm not sorry (except to William Carlos Williams)
they were delicious
so sweet
and so sunned.
Two weeks ago there were 12 apples on one of my four small tree-grafts.
Then there were only two and one of the fragile young branches had been snapped. The marauding badger was probably responsible for both and (apologies, but) despite it being a protected species, I would happily give it TB or worse rehome it a very long way away. I've straightened the branch and wrapped tape around it but am not optimistic it will survive.
