Seemannia nemanthodes

Another day, another unusual Gesneriad.   This one has a habit similar to achimenes but is inclined to trail without support.  The fiery red tubular flowers are each about an inch long and are produced in profusion for a couple of months.  It gets the same treatment as the other winter dormant, rhizomatous Gesneriads.

A quiet and fairly lazy day.   After a very late start, we went to Jamie's flat for lunch and he stopped there for the afternoon ... although slept there would be a good description of what happened.  He's not so bright as yesterday, the confusion has returned.   Seems this side effect will not wear off in a linear way.   After a couple of hours at home sorting more of the bulb collection, I cooked tea at his before going to an extra practice with the singers before tomorrow's set at Aberdovey Food Festival.  The dogs got a run in the gloaming after this and now Jamie is back at mine.  Hopefully an early night will bring some improvement tomorrow.
