Beastie in the tunnel..
The mower I bought yesterday has been well and truly tested.
Starting, needs a good pull, and will start the second one. It's heavy. First bit mowed was the track down to the veg beds. Did a bit around the veg bed, and then down to the bottom of the croft to mow around the bottom bed. All fine, cuts well, but when I tried to get back up the hill, the clutch was slipping. I got it back up to the top, partly driving itself, but mostly by me pushing it..
Took the wheel off, and the clutch cover to inspect the parts, all was fine, so reassembled, and adjusted, and it's fine. Cut some patches on A's croft next door, and his path down to the bottom. Coming back up the mower was pulling me. Well pleased.
Strimmed some bits that I couldn't do with the mower, and strung up the remaining cucumbers, tomatoes and runner beans..
Spotted this Ichneumon wasp on the nasturtiums in the poly-tunnel. It's a parasitic wasp, laying its eggs inside a caterpillar, the resulting grub then eats the caterpillar from the inside.. Isn't nature wonderful?..
music, although the version we used to sing included "..his dog, Spot, a sausage roll, a bottle of pop, old ma Riley and her cow and didn't know how to milk it...". Anyone else familiar with that?..
