Ancient tree

Rather a wild night but the rain had stopped by the time I got up and, as our visitor was still asleep, I went off to parkrun and got some shopping on the way home. The parkrun course was a bit muddy and wet and I was glad I'd put on my waterproof shoes, I also met a running friend of my daughter who was visiting from the south.
After lunch we took our visitor to Perth for a walk by the river and came home the scenic route and visited Balmerino Abbey. This sweet chestnut tree is reckoned to be between 435 and 470 years old and still seems to be flourishing.
This evening we were watching a cycle race in the far north of Norway (the wonders of technology!) where it was wet and windy for the last bit but the scenery was amazing.
