Inspired by a peace pole.

Peace poles are hand crafted monuments erected the world over as an international symbol of peace. This one stands in a small peace garden not far from Abbot Hall art gallery in Kendal. It was created from a block of seasoned oak by Kendal College.
Another, smaller pole, stands in the Quaker garden, Kendal and a third one can be seen in Oxenholme Station. All three are inscribed with the words, ‘May peace prevail on earth’. It’s worth a pause for thought.
